Peace Garden Designs consists of Che Nolan and Siobhan Sloane-Seale. We’ve been professional landscape and food gardening for the last 10 years. Over the years our skills have grown and we decided to share our knowledge and skills through our own company.

Che completed the Organic Master Gardener course in 2014 and obtained his Residential Landscape Technician Diploma from Douglas College, which has given us a whole lot of new knowledge and techniques for making and maintaining better gardens.

Organic gardening is an important way to contribute to the health and well-being of our communities and planet.

Beyond being ultra-noisy and disturbing the peace, gas-powered machines also spew cancer-causing effluents.  Gardeners working with these machines long-term compromise their health at the same time as polluting our air.

Is it really worth it?

Did you know that two-stroke engines like gas-powered lawn trimmers, hedge trimmers and chainsaws are ELEVEN times more polluting than a car?  Imagine: you’d have to drive nearly half a day to equal the amount of pollution coming out of one of these gardening devices in the course of a single hour!

Multiply that by the roughly 4500 gardening companies in the Lower Mainland, the vast majority of whom use these contraptions, often two or more simultaneously, and you have a monumental problem.

…And we haven’t even started to talk about the petrochemicals used in conventional fertilizing practices!  Hiring a gardener who works in a quieter, more environmentally conscious way is a major vote for a cleaner, more peaceful world.

We have a wide range of talents which we use to help you achieve the lawn or garden of your dreams using non-toxic methods, which is especially important if you have children or pets.

If you have a project you’d like us to help you with, contact us at che@peacegardendesigns.com or 604 401 0374 and we’ll get you where you want to be, safely and quietly!
